Mika Perez toke the pole position signing the new lap record, but bad weather forced race direction to delete all program. Marangoni said: “Too long to make a decision”.
Imola (ITA), 12th May 2019. It could be a very good weekend for Scuderia Maranga Racing at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, where the third round of World Superspost 300 Championship took place but bad weather ruined everything.
With Mika Perez on pole position and Borja Snchez winner of Last Chance Race it was an almost perfect Saturday for the team led by Alberto Marangoni, but heavy rain forced the race direction to cancel all Sunday afternoon program.
WorldSPP300 was penalized by the schedule. While Supersport 600 raced in dry condition, around 2.00 pm a strong storm hit Imola and the start of Superbike’s race 2 was postponed. At 3pm, when Supersport 300 race should have been started, Superbike’s riders decided not to race and race direction delete all program. Next stop for Scuderia Maranga Racing will be at Jerez between 7th and 9th June.
